Stolen Photos!!!

Hello everyone, it has come to my attention that a man by the name of Ray (Rviohl) has stolen many photos from sites such as Railpictures. He has even won a photo contest from Dans Camera City in Pa with a image taken by Michael Allen. I have posted links below that you may look at. I was quite shocked that he took it this far, sometimes commenting on the settings and conditions in which he took the photos in.

Some of the photographers that I have noticed that he has stolen from are:
Andrew Blaszczyk; Kevin Madore; Mitch Goldman; Joe Lemay; Michael Allen

If you would like to send Mr. Viohl a e-mail: rviohl@yahoo.com

Gah, that's one of my local camera stores (about twenty miles from me). To add to your list I see some stuff stolen from Nick Anshant, Tom Granville, Ron Tilley, and many others.

Thanks for the heads up.

Add Appalachian Railfan to the list of photogs he stolen from...

The Thomas the Tank Engine shot on the September page on Shuttercal (http://shuttercal.com/calendar/rviohl/2008/9/) I recognized as Dave Davies.

Further digging turned up one of my own as well:

As this photographer claims to be from Pennsylvania, it seems that anyone on RP who has posted photos taken in PA may have had images stolen.

At least he could have leveled it when he stole it.

Wow. Must be a really shi**y photographer to have to steal so many others work to claim as his own. This guy is worse than garbage wrapped in skin... I wonder if he can even do his own screwing?

Wayne, I suppose this is a shot of NS 21T with solid CN power going around Horseshoe Curve, right?

A little interesting tidbit from the Dans Camera contest rules. I'm sure Michael Allen will be delighted to find this out.

"All winning entries become the property of Dan’s Camera City. Non-winning entries can be claimed after the voting period has ended & the “winners” board is displayed. Return of entries by mail can be arranged."

This guy seems to have a few screws loose...

JimThias 03-02-2009 11:43 PM

Apparently, this is him:

Now, if that's not really him, then that means he stole that picture as well and is claiming to be the person in the shot. That would be really, really sick.

Almost looks like the guy from "Tool Time."

It would appear as such, although after delving into more careful research it actually turns out to be CN 121 rounding a curve at Bowmanville Ontario on the CN Kingston Subdivision...

This guy Roy should buy a life, a 39 year old man stealing peoples images. Whats next a 4 year old robbing a bank at gun point?

John Ryan 03-03-2009 12:41 AM

Whew! At least I can take comfort in the fact that my photos were not worth stealing.

If I wasn't a foot taller than you, and if I looked good in a top hat, I'd so steal everyone of your shots! :D ;)

Given some of the names he's stolen from, I guess I should be flattered that he thinks that much of mine!

I've looked at all of his self-promotional sites and read through his bio. You guys are spot on.....this dude has some issues.:lol::lol:

Walter S 03-03-2009 01:17 AM

Kevin I am quite jealous that he used one of you Cass shots and note mine :-(

Chase55671 03-03-2009 01:21 AM

Whew, that's pretty bad. I like how he manages to come up with these little "stories" to go along with each photo, such as "The conductor was looking at me funny until he realized what I was doing" in regard to AB's photo of the trucks of that CN caboose.

What an odd person.
Chase

As much as you guys joke about this toolbag, I should point out that this really is a big issue for those that have had this done done to them. ;)

Walter S 03-03-2009 01:23 AM

Could legal action be taken against this guy?

Darryl Rule 03-03-2009 01:27 AM

He got one of mine. What a douchebag. I saw one of Mark Hardin's on there.

Sure! However, you would need to prove that you took the said photo(s) tho. But, I'm sure this guy has warrants already for escaping from the looney bin also!!

BE Tower 1999 03-03-2009 01:30 AM

Yup, he did get one of mine.
